Kinderspiel Piano Duo

Joyce and Kai first met when they were five years old. As they both have such a love for music and enjoy spending time with each other, they began performing the piano as a duo. Kai likes playing the secondo part, and Joyce enjoys playing the primo part!

Southwest Tour April 2022

Joyce Zhou and Kai Laird went on their first tour in April 2022 to Thompson Brook and Bridgetown in Western Australia. Watch the highlights of their tour here.

Biography

Joyce is 9 years old and love singing, dancing and playing the piano. Her favourite concert pianists are Lang Lang and Yuja Wang, and aspires to learn all of the pieces from Lang Lang’s “The Piano Book”. She is currently studying piano under the tutelage of Robert Laird and flute under Rebecca Vouyoucalos. She has recently won Second Prize in the Piano Island Festival and Competition for December 2022.

Biography

Kai is 9 years old and loves playing the piano, cello, and drums. His favourite composer is Bela Bartok and Stravinsky, and is currently on a mission to learn all of the pieces from Bartok Children's Pieces. He is currently studying piano under the tutelage of Robert Laird, and cello under Stephanie Jeffries. He has recently been awarded the Dominus Special Prize the Piano Island Festival and Competition in December 2022.
