Our Teaching Philosophy

As music educators, we aim  to  foster  love  and  appreciation  for  music  to all of our students.  We  have  a  holistic  approach  where  we  teach  music  covering  different aspects  such  as  creativity,  note  reading,  history,  theory,  improvisation,  technique  and musicianship  skills.  Each  lesson  is  tailored  specifically  to  each  child,  and  our  role  as  a  piano  teacher  is to  teach  students  how  to  read,  write  and  express  themselves  musically  through  their playing.  We  explore  different  styles  of  music  in  class,  including  classical,  blues,  folk  songs,  lead sheets,  jazz  and  popular  music.

Students  have  the  opportunity  to  pursue  graded  exams  through  the  Associated Board  of  the  Royal  Schools  of  Music  (ABRSM)  and  take  part  in  competitions  and  festivals  or  to  learn  for  leisure.  There  are  many  performances  opportunities  that  are  held  yearly  such  as  our  annual  Winter  recital,  Christmas  party,  hospital  volunteer  programs,  aged  care  volunteer  choir  programs  and  music  making  workshops.

We accept students of all levels and abilities from beginners to tertiary level. Please email beverlychanmusic@gmail.com to find out more.

We are located in Seville Grove, WA Australia.
